Blogging
I've tried everything in the past, from Blogger (it was the early 2000s), to self hosted static sites built with Jekyll (and others), and finally some very strange dalliances with SquareSpace and Wix.
It seems that the search for a platform was mostly disguising the sheer fact that if I wanted to blog, I should just write, not faff around with firewall rules and Cloudflare.
That said, I did once manage a couple of years of blogging that went very well. That was around a year I took off of work to travel (that was on Blogger...). In hindsight, that sentence is a bit obvious when you read it back.
I was quite taken with the idea of a Digital Garden for a while, but think it was probably an excuse to not write things in order to curate some strange and wonderful platform.
So here it is, I am trying to blog again, I have chosen this wonderful platform after seeing it on Ludic's blog and challenging myself to just write or post pictures with some commentary.
So that's what I'm going to do. No commitments to a publishing schedule, no desire for anything to be polished or perfect. No idea on whether this will be anonymous or not. Let's see how we go.
